LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Irrigation and plant spacing will be the topics for two Texas researchers at the National Conservation Tillage Cotton and Rice Conference here, Jan. 20-21.
Dr. Wayne Keeling, Texas Agricultural Experiment Station agronomist from Lubbock, will discuss irrigation conservation tillage systems for cotton . Dr. Gary McCauley, Experiment Station water management researcher in Beaumont, will talk about the response of various rice varieties to reduced tillage and row spacing.
The meeting, at the Excelsior Hotel, is sponsored by the National Conservation Tillage Digest, Texas A&M University and various other institutions across the South. More than 20 cotton and rice farmers and 35 researchers from nine states will address the conference.
