AMARILLO — A major goal of the annual Amarillo Womens Program is to promote women and families in agricultural partnerships, according to Alby Peters, Family and Consumer Science (FCS) agent with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service in Amarillo.
“We hold this event every year in conjunction with the Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show,” said Peters, who will emcee the program on Dec. 2 at the Texas A&M Research and Extension Center, 6500 Amarillo Blvd. West.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and will be coordinated by Mateel Brown, member of the FCS advisory committee and the Progressive Family and Community Education (FCE) Club of Amarillo. The program, focused around a festive Let It Snow theme, will begin at 9:30 a.m.
“We want to emphasize the importance of agricultural products available to todays consumer,” said Peters. “Its another way to focus on the impact of the agricultural industry on the regions economy and the contributions of families in the community.”
A Christmas holiday coffee will introduce the program, hosted by all 10 Potter County FCE Clubs.
