COLLEGE STATION Cargill Poultry Products in Waco has donated $250,000 to fund a graduate fellowship in poultry science at Texas A&M University.
Dr. Clarence Creger, professor and head of the poultry science department at A&M, said the fellowship is in memory of Pamela S. Hargis, an A&M faculty member who researched poultry nutrition.
“She was such a dynamic individual in her relationship with students,” he said.
Peter Brown, complex general manager at Cargill, said the company is pleased with several aspects of A&M, especially its graduates.
“We’ve had tremendous success with the quality of our managers we hire from Texas A&M,” he said.
