COLLEGE STATION – Scott Meis, director of research with the Canadian Tourism Commission, will discuss the state of the tourism industry and the tourism industry abroad following the Sept. 11 terrorists attacks.
The presentation will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Room 109 of Francis Hall at Texas A&M University. It is presented by the department of recreation, park and tourism sciences.
Meis is responsible for economics, market, and product research activities relating to domestic and international tourism in Canada and North America.
Meis has extensive international experience working with other nations’ tourism and statistical agencies and on major tourism research initiatives.
He has managed similar research and statistical acitivities with the Canadian National Parks System for more than 10 years. He has also worked in a university research institute, and as a private industry research consultant.
