HOUSTON – In celebration of National Nutrition Month, four volunteer organizations will present the free Children’s Nutrition Expo, on Feb. 28 at Houston’s Children’s Museum, 1500 Binz.
The Expo features games, activities, chef demonstrations, exhibits and puppet shows that all have the message of healthy eating and snacking.
“We know that if you begin establishing healthy habits while you’re young, it is much easier to maintain good health later in life,” said Jo Lynn Jennings, Texas Cooperative Extension agent in Harris County.
The Expo has been presented for four years; each year more than 1,000 Harris County residents attend.
Sponsors for the event are Houston Area Dietetic Association, Houston Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association, the Houston Children’s Museum and the Greater Houston Nutrition Coalition, an Extension advisory group.
