COLLEGE STATION - Kenneth W. Threlkeld of Tyler and Dr. Marvin J. Cepica of Lubbock have been named to the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership advisory board.
Threlkeld, who is the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Threlkeld and Company Insurance, will fill a members-at-large position.
Threlkeld has been in and out of the cattle business for several years, but in 1994 he bought the first 15 head of his now 500-head cattle business.
“I think it’s a real honor and privilege to serve on the board,” Threlkeld said.
“It’s serving a tremendous need in agriculture. I feel we’re helping young people to learn about agriculture and pursue their careers in agriculture by serving on this board.”
Cepica is dean of agricultural sciences and natural resources at Texas Tech University. He became dean in May after serving as executive associate dean for most of the past eight years. “Most people like to associate with winners, and the TALL program is a winner,” Cepica said. “I’m very pleased to be a part of the board, and I will help any way I can.”
TALL is a leadership development program sponsored by Texas Cooperative Extension.
