COLLEGE STATION Texas wildflowers will be discussed by Stephen Brueggerhoff April 12 at the Texas A&M University Horticultural Garden. Brueggerhoff, a Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center representative, says the plants are “one of our state’s most loved and valued natural resources.”
The session will begin at 7 p.m. at the garden between Texas and South College avenues on Hensel Drive in College Station.
Brueggerhoff’s work at the wildflower center focuses on education programs for adults. He will give an overview of projects now under way at the center and talk about activities and events for the public.
Three more programs are planned for the spring lecture series:
-May 10, Plant Extravaganza with Dr. David Creech, Stephen F. Austin University Mast Arboretum, Nacogdoches;
– June 14, Gingers & Tropicals by Linda Gay, Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens, Houston; and,
– July 12, Floral Design Workshop by Jim Johnson, Texas A&M University, College Station.
All programs begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $10 for Friends of the Garden members and $15 for non-members in advance, or $5 higher at the event. Annual dues for Friends of the Garden membership can be paid with registration.
