COLLEGE STATION - Dr. Molly McAdams and Ben Novosad have been named to the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership advisory board.
McAdams is director of business management for the H-E-Butt Grocery Co. in San Antonio, and Novosad is president and chief executive officer of Capital Farm Credit in Bryan.
They are filling two formerly vacant at-large positions, said Dr. Jim Mazurkiewicz, director of the program, which is a competitive leadership development program. It includes seminars, on-site tours, meetings with business and governmental leaders, international study and personal skills improvement, he said.
McAdams develops marketing strategies for the $2 billion brand portfolio the H-E-Butt Grocery Co. owns and manages. She developed the H-E-B Fully Cooked meats line, which now includes more than 250 items.
“TALL is a powerful, sustaining program that serves to positively shape the lives of those involved,” she said. “I’ve not had the pleasure of participating in a TALL class, but I have known several graduates. They are all richer for the lifetime experience they have gained.”
McAdams’ background in agriculture plus her retail experience are strengths she brings to the board, she said.
Novosad oversees the operation of Capital Farm Credit, a $1.8 billion Farm Credit System lending institution. The organization has 23 branch offices, more than 100 employees and a 24-member board of directors.
“I feel it is an honor and a privilege to serve on the TALL advisory board,” Novosad said.
“I think the TALL program is playing a major role in creating our future agricultural leaders in Texas.”
His experience in agricultural lending and business will bring an added dimension to the board, he said.
