SAN ANGELO – The Fifth Concho Valley Cotton Conference is set for March 25 in the San Angelo Convention Center.
The bi-annual event is developed and presented by Texas Cooperative Extension’s staffs and citizen agricultural committees in Runnels and Tom Green counties.
“The educational program will be addressing such timely topics as conservation-tillage cropping systems, herbicide resistance management, chemical efficacy in con-till systems, and weed management,” said Rick Minzenmayer, Texas Cooperative Extension IPM agent for Runnels and Tom Green counties and a program coordinator.
“We’ll also have an extensive trade show planned for participants to visit throughout the day. We’ll have a complimentary noon meal and Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units (CEUs) for private, commercial, and noncommercial applicators who stay for the entire conference.”
Other program highlights include talks on drip irrigation systems and maintenance, weather modification, industry reports, and the Southern Rolling Plains Cotton Growers Association’s annual meeting.
To pre-register call the Extension office in Runnels County at (915) 365-2219, the Entomologist Office at (915) 365-5212 or in Tom Green County at (915) 659-6523 by March 21. There will be a $10 per person registration fee for those registering after March 21.
