COLLEGE STATION – The I-35 Corridor Childcare Conference Task Force received a Superior Service team award at the recent Texas A&M AgriLife conference held recently in College Station.
According to the award citation, the team won the award for their efforts training childcare providers in their respective counties serving the Interstate 35 corridor area.
The award was presented to six Texas AgriLife Extension Service family and consumer sciences agents representing Wilson, Gonzales, Bastrop, Guadalupe, Comal, Hays and Travis counties.
“Teamwork is a key ingredient in the success of AgriLife Extension efforts,” said Dr. Bonnie McGee, associate director for 4-H youth development and human sciences, who presented the award to the team. “This is especially evident in how this group of agents worked together to provide an invaluable educational service to childcare providers.”
McGee added that by working with agencies, schools, churches, communities and cities, the group had conducted six multi-county conferences providing training for more than 500 childcare providers serving more than 9,000 children in the South Central Texas area.
