BOERNE – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will present the Backyard Basics Sausage Making Workshop from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at the show barn concession stand on the Kendall County Fairgrounds in Boerne.
“This workshop will show attendees how to make their own sausage using basic equipment and easy-to-learn techniques,” said Stephen Zoeller, AgriLife Extension agent for agriculture and natural resources, Kendall County. “It’s BYOA, which means bring your own apron, because this is going to be a very hands-on demonstration and things could get a little messy.”
The cost for the workshop is $25 and includes instruction, educational materials and sausage samples.
The workshop is limited to 20 participants, so registration is required. To register, go to the AgriLife Extension office, located at 118 Saunders, on or before Nov. 8. Checks should be made payable to: Kendall Ag Fund.
“There’s nothing better than the taste of homemade sausage,” Zoeller said. “Plus, you have the satisfaction of knowing you made it yourself and knowing exactly what went into it and how it was prepared.”
