AUSTIN – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Travis County will be presenting two craft workshops in June, both to be held at the AgriLife Extension office located at 1600-B Smith Road in Austin.
The first workshop will be June 25 and the second will be June 26. Both will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on their respective dates, said Sonia Coyle, AgriLife Extension agent for family and consumer sciences, Travis County.
“We will be presenting these workshops in cooperation with our coworkers who represent the Cooperative Extension Program of Texas A&M Prairie View University,” said Coyle. “Each program will allow participants to choose among different crafts that interest them.”
Coyle said crafting options at both workshops will include making greeting cards, putting together photo albums, making Christmas ornaments and quilting for beginners.
“This is a good time to start thinking about holiday gifts and gifts you might want to make for a birthday or other special occasion,” she said. “These workshops will be fun for adults, and we also have a fun project for any children who will be attending with their parent or legal guardian.”
The cost of each workshop is $25 and includes materials, except for photo albums, which attendees must bring themselves. A $5 discount applies for attendees who bring a friend.
To make a reservation for either workshop, contact Coyle at 512-854-9605 or sonia.coyle@ag.tamu.edu by May 20.
