LUBBOCK – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s South Plains District has hired three new agents, said Michael Clawson, the district’s Lubbock-based administrator.

Clawson said the three agents, all with June 1 hire dates, are: Melode Watson, family and consumer sciences in Crosby County; Cassidy Peek, who transferred from the family and consumer sciences post in Lipscomb County to become the 4-H and youth development agent in Hale County; and Chris Green, agriculture and natural resources in Lynn County.

“We are very happy with these three new appointments, and all are currently in place and working, ” Clawson said.

Watson earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University. She previously was a teacher in the Ralls Independent School District.

Peek earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural development and a master’s degree in agricultural education from Texas A&M University.

Green earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from Sul Ross State University. He previously worked as an agriscience teacher with the Lake Dallas ISD. He also worked for  Sierra Blanca Equine Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico, as farm manager where he oversaw equine management and farm business operations.
