COLLEGE STATION – Brazos Valley horse owners and enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the Keeping a Happy, Healthy Horse program scheduled for March 22 at the Thomas G. Hildebrand ‘56 Equine Complex on the Texas A&M University campus.
The complex is located at 3240 F&B Road in College Station. The program is hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Brazos Extension Horse Committee.
The workshop will begin with registration at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dinner at 6 p.m. and speaker sessions at 6:30 p.m.
There is no cost to attend the event if RSVP is received by March 18 by calling 979-823-0129. Thereafter, a $10 late registration fee will be charged at the door.
Topics and speakers include:
- Caring for the aging horse, Dr. Cameron Stoudt, Texas Equine Hospital, Bryan.
- Mule and donkey training and care, David Sessum, licensed veterinary technician, Blinn College, Brenham.
- Packing and camping with your equine, Dr. Dickson Varner, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M, College Station.
- How the AgriLife Extension county office can help you, Dusty Tittle, AgriLife Extension agent, Brazos County.
