DIMMITT – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has named Craig Campbell as the new county agent for agriculture and natural resources in Castro County.

“We are pleased to have Craig join us here in the South Plains District,” Clawson said. “This key agriculture-based community has long had a strong AgriLife Extension presence and I’m confident Craig will build upon that legacy. He currently lives in Dimmitt, so he knows the area and its people. I’m sure he will soon be a real asset not only to our agency, but to the county and area as well.”

Campbell earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University at Lubbock.

His job experience includes owning and managing Butler Storage Services in Dimmitt, work as an office manager and field representative for American Dusting, Inc., an aerial applicator at Hereford, and an export documentation specialist for the Plains Cotton Cooperative Association at Lubbock.

His community involvement includes fund raising for local youth projects through the Dimmitt Buyer’s Club, volunteering on the Castro County Stock Show committee to conduct the stock show in Dimmitt and teaching quarterly classes for first through fourth grades at 4th and Bedford Church of Christ.
