WEATHERFORD – Jay Kingston, a longtime Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resources agent in Kent County, has moved east to fill the same position in Parker County.

“Jay brings 17 years of AgriLife Extension work experience to Parker County,” said Miles Dabovich, AgriLife Extension district administrator in Vernon. “His background will provide the continuation of the high–quality ag and natural resources programs in the county.”
Kingston brings with him AgriLife Extension experience with educational programs, result demonstrations and 4-H projects from Kent, Gillespie and Kendall counties.
He is a member of the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association and has served as a director for both District 10 and District 3. He also has served as the treasurer for the state 4-H association.
A native of Munday, Kingston earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in animal science from Texas A&M University.
Kingston said he is excited about the move as it is a great opportunity for him and his family.
“To be able to work with some of the greatest co-workers in the organization as well as be a part of a tremendously effective AgriLife Extension program was very appealing,” Kingston said.
“There are some big shoes to fill after the retirement of Jon (Green) but I do look forward to the challenge and also working with the people of Parker County. Beef cattle, hay production and water conservation along with working with a good Master Gardener group will be an immediate focus within the first few months.”
