“We are excited to bring an internal applicant to the Archer County program,” said Miles Dabovich, AgriLife Extension district administrator in Vernon. “Amanda knows the steps in implementing an effective AgriLife Extension program for both youth and adults.”
Necessary, a native of Clifton, earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tarleton State University in agriculture services and development, and agriculture and consumer resources, respectively.
Prior to joining the AgriLife Extension team in 2014, she worked at Iowa Select Farms in Iowa Falls, Iowa, and the Bosque Soil and Water Conservation District in Meridian.
Necessary said she grew up raising sheep and goats and exhibited cattle, poultry, sheep, goats and rabbits through 4-H and FFA. This, along with her degrees, gives her a broad educational experience that has been very beneficial in her beginning years with AgriLife Extension.
“This allows me to get back closer to family,” Necessary said. “I’m excited to get back to the Central Texas area and what I’m used to from growing up. I look forward to working with all the clientele in Archer County.”
