OVERTON – Spencer Perkins has been named the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s agriculture and natural resources agent for Henderson County, effective Oct. 1.
The joint announcement by Henderson County Judge Richard Sanders, the Henderson County Commissioners Court and Shelia Lewis, District 5 AgriLife Extension administrator, Overton, followed Perkins approval by commissioners.
“I am pleased to have Spencer join our AgriLife Extension faculty in Henderson County,” Lewis said. “He will be a great asset to the county and our agency. I feel certain he will do an excellent job because of his enthusiasm for providing quality educational programs and working with the public.”
Perkins earned his bachelor of science degree from Texas Tech University with a major in animal science. He has been an AgriLife Extension agent in Camp County since July 2013.
He said he has met many of the personnel in Henderson County and believes AgriLife Extension has a great team that will provide quality educational programs for the community.
“I am looking forward to moving closer to home and getting involved in the Henderson County community,” he said. “I am eager to begin working with them and provide them the support needed to continue their great programs.”
