OVERTON – Clint Perkins was named the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resource agent for Smith County effective Jan. 1. Perkins is moving from the AgriLife Extension office in Wood County, where he was an agent since 2005.

The announcement was made by Smith County Judge Nathaniel Moran, the Smith County Commissioners Court and Shelia Lewis, AgriLife Extension district administrator, Overton.

“I am pleased to have Mr. Perkins join our AgriLife Extension faculty in Smith County. He will be a great asset to the county and AgriLife Extension,” Lewis said. “I feel certain he will do an excellent job because of his enthusiasm for providing quality, educational programs and working with the public.”

Perkins earned a bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, and his master of science degree at Texas Tech University, Lubbock.

“I am very excited about becoming the agriculture and natural resources agent and look forward to serving the residents of Smith County,” Perkins said. “I am also proud to be joining an excellent team of agents and staff in Smith County.”
