GRAPEVINE – A Jan. 16 workshop aims to help workplace administrators implement and monitor employee wellness programs.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service workshop, Building a Healthy Workplace: Research Meets Practice, lasts from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Great Wolf Lodge, 100 Great Wolf Drive in Grapevine.
Dr. Ninfa Peña-Purcell, assistant professor and AgriLife Extension family and community health specialist in College Station, will review methods for improving employee health and measuring results.
The workshop also will assist participating organizations in planning wellness programs to meet their specific needs, said the workshop’s organizer Carissa Wilhelm, AgriLife Extension program specialist in Victoria.
Registration, including lunch, is $95 by Jan. 5 and $125 after. An optional $150 workshop package includes training under AgriLife Extension’s Master Wellness Volunteer Training program – a statewide initiative to instruct Texans on teaching preventive health in their communities.

Wilhelm said professionals in safety and risk management, human resources, benefits, health care and insurance are especially encouraged to attend.
