AUSTIN — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office for Travis County will conduct a 4–H Family and Community Health Workshop from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. June 6 at its offices at 1600-B Smith Road, Austin.
The workshop is free and open to youth 8 to 18 years old.
“This program will address two separate but useful life skills,” said Sonia Coyle, AgriLife Extension agent for family and community health, Travis County. “The first will be the basics of water bath canning, and the second will be the basics of financial literacy.”
She said the workshop has been designed for young people interested in learning how to preserve their own homemade foods as well as those wanting to learn the fundamentals of personal financial management.
Coyle said space is limited to 20 participants and attendees should RSVP to Angela Reyes at 512-854-9652 or amreyes@ag.tamu.edu by June 1.
