SPEARMAN – Jessica Livingston has been hired to fill the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service family and community health agent position in Hansford County, according to Brandon Dukes, AgriLife Extension district director in Amarillo.
“We are excited to have Jessica join the District 1 team,” Dukes said. “She has been an active participant in AgriLife Extension programs in Hansford County, serving as a 4-H volunteer and member of the Family and Community Health Advisory Committee. We look forward to seeing her bring the same level of enthusiasm and expertise to her career as she has shown as a volunteer.”
Livingston will go through the First Step training program in Hemphill County before beginning work in her Hansford County office in mid-January, he said.
The Spearman native earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Texas A&M University. She previously worked with insurance and farm equipment sales.
Livingston has spent the past six years as a volunteer with Hansford County 4-H, after being a member of the program throughout her youth.
“I have always been interested in being an AgriLife Extension agent,” Livingston said. “I enjoy helping the kids and seeing them excel in their activities.
“It’s also very important to me to see our community grow and thrive. I hope to continue with our current programs and get some new activities going in the community. Our volunteers have been amazing, and I hope to keep everyone on board for years to come.”
