AgriLife Extension presents Neill with Superior Service award

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service presented its Superior Service – 4-H Agent award to Kayla Neill, 4-H youth development agent in Parker County.
The Superior Service awards are the highest award presented by the agency. The recipients were honored Jan. 8 with a noon luncheon.
Neill is a gifted, dedicated AgriLife Extension educator and leader among her peers, who has provided exceptional service to the agency for the past 10 years, according to her nomination.
She has served in Parker County her whole career, beginning in 2008, and has demonstrated a variety of programmatic successes with 4-H, youth development and volunteer management.
“Kayla can boast year after year of having the largest 4-H membership enrollment within District 3,” said Jay Kingston, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent in Parker County.
As well as having impressive in-depth programming, Neill supervises 11 clubs and will add a new club this year. She has 112 volunteer leaders enrolled that assist with all the 4-H activities in the county, according to the nomination.
“Kayla works great with her coworkers in the county,” Kingston said in the nomination. “She has been trained and helps the family and community health agent with Matter of Balance trainings. She works closely with the Leadership Advisory Board in identifying issues in the county and implementing interpretation events to local stakeholders including the commissioner’s court.”
She has also been willing to assist him with conducting result demonstrations and educational programs.
Neill is held in high regard by her peers for her knowledge in 4-H management, youth leadership and multi-disciplinary programming, the nomination said. She has been instrumental in conducting quality educational programs addressing the needs of water education, youth agriculture education, basic life skills, healthy lifestyles and youth development.
Neill has earned several awards over her career including: Texas 4-H Programming Excellence Award, Innovative Youth Programming, Family and Community Health multi-county Team Award and several Outstanding Youth Enrollment Awards in District 3.
She is a member of Texas Association of 4-H Agents and serves on numerous State and District 3 4-H committees.
