ROSCOE– The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service beef cattle conference for Nolan and Fisher Counties is Aug. 13.
The conference will be at the Roscoe Collegiate ISD STEM Research Center, 12822 N. Interstate 20 Frontage Road, Roscoe. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. with a meal, followed by speakers.
The cost is $15 if registered by Aug. 9, or $20 at the door. Register by calling Zachary Wilcox, AgriLife Extension agent for Nolan County, at 325-236-6912, or Nick Dickson, AgriLife Extension agent for Fisher County, at 325-776-3259.
“We’re packing a lot of information into this event,” said Wilcox. “By having it in the evening, we are hoping it allows more folks the opportunity to attend and learn from our expert field of speakers.”

- Top Legal Issues Facing Ranchers – Stephanie Bradley Fryer, attorney, Stephanie Bradley Fryer Law Firm, Stamford.
- Market Considerations: What is a good price for my calves? – Donna Hughes, Daniels Trading Company, Abilene.
- Bull Fertility and Management – Dr. Bruce Carpenter, AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist, Fort Stockton.
- Understanding EPD’s: Live animal evaluation – Carpenter and Roddy Alexander, Alexander Ag, Roscoe.
“There will be time for attendees to ask questions of our speakers as well,” said Dickson. “We have structured this program so that ideally everyone leaves with new information that will benefit their programs.”
