A Land Management Q&A Session, hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Wichita County, is set for Oct. 22 at the Winfield Distribution Center, 1911 Sheppard Access Road, Wichita Falls.
The program will be from 6:15-8:30 p.m. and includes a meal. The fee is $10, and registration is needed by Oct. 17 for the meal count. Register by calling 940-716-8610 or email wichita-tx@tamu.edu.
David Graf, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent in Wichita County, said the program is designed to let producers ask their specific questions of an expert panel.
The program’s expert panel will consist of James Jackson, AgriLife Extension range specialist, Stephenville; Kevin Derzapf, U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service rangeland management specialist, Weatherford; and Michael Trammell, Ph.D., Noble Research Institute senior plant breeder, Ardmore, Oklahoma.
The panel will address mesquite and prickly pear control options, overall weed control game plans, managing pasture for forage or aesthetics, matching animals to available acreage and Chisholm, the perennial fescue for winter grazing.
In addition to AgriLife Extension, the program is hosted by the USDA-NRCS and Noble Research Institute.
