The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will hold the West Region Beef Cattle Program online on Oct. 5.
The free event runs from 11 a.m.-noon and will focus on beef cattle.
The program will be held on the Zoom meeting platform. Producers who would like to participate online should register in advance. Participants may also call in the day of the event to 346-248-7799 and enter meeting ID 996 6478 8691 to participate over the phone.
“A successful calf-weaning program is one of the biggest challenges beef producers face,” said Robert Pritz, AgriLife Extension regional program leader, San Angelo. “This webinar will highlight calf- weaning techniques as well as planning and marketing strategies that can hopefully help producers maximize their profitability.”
Speakers will include Bruce Carpenter, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension livestock specialist, Ft. Stockton; Ron Gill, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist, Bryan-College Station; and Jason Banta, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist, Overton.
“Even when we can’t meet in person, we work hard to provide our stakeholders quality programming so they can learn the latest from our AgriLife Extension experts,” Pritz said. “We’ll be covering a lot of information in an hour, and I think it will be extremely beneficial for anyone in the beef cattle industry.”
