Martin will officially shift locations May 24.

“Ryan is an outstanding agent,” said Josh Brooks, AgriLife Extension district administrator, Amarillo. “He has been immersed in agriculture from crops to cattle in his past stops. Ryan is also well versed in 4-H project work and will make a great addition to Hall County and District 1. We are proud to have him in the Panhandle.”

Providing education

Martin has excelled through the years with programming involving cotton, cattle, wildlife, wheat, water conservation, farm bill updates, auxin and other private applicator trainings to producers.

Additionally, he has offered training in breast cancer awareness, bee awareness, gardening, rainwater harvesting, and home water and energy conservation for community members.

Martin’s 4-H project work included conducting the agency’s Towards No Tobacco, Watch UR BAC, Hatching Eggs in the Classroom, and the Learn, Grow, Eat & Go! programs. Over the years he has conducted numerous trainings in beef, swine, sheep and goat projects, showmanship, horsemanship, shooting sports safety, record books and scholarships.

“I know Hall County has a very strong 4-H program and I want to continue with that, along with keeping AgriLife Extension as a key resource in the ag community,” Martin said.

A native of Matador, Martin earned his bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University and his master’s degree from Texas A&M University, Kingsville.

He is a member of the National County Agriculture Agents Association and Texas County Agriculture Agents Association. He has been recognized by the Texas County Agriculture Agents Association with an Early Career Agent Award and an Achievement Award, and also by the National Association of County Agricultural Agents with an Achievement Award.
