The program is a collaborative effort of AgriLife Extension offices in Travis, Hays, Caldwell and Bexar counties. The sessions over 12 weeks provide nutrition tips in addition to advice on exercise and healthy eating.
The program includes six in-person sessions from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office in Travis County, 1600-B Smith Road in Austin. There are also six sessions participants can take at their own pace from home. Sessions at agency offices will be Sept. 1, Sept. 15, Sept. 29, Oct. 13, Oct. 17 and Nov. 10.
“This is a researched-based program that has proven successful in helping people with weight management as well as building healthy lifestyle habits,” said Sonia Coyle, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent, Travis County.
