Hands On in the Garden, the free monthly gardening program presented by the Texas Master Gardeners of Williamson County, will be held March 26 in Georgetown.
Texas Master Gardeners is a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service program. The event will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Demonstration Garden, 3151 S.E. Inner Loop, Georgetown, and participants should bring a lawn chair.
“Spring is almost here, and it’s time to think about how you will keep your lawn and garden hydrated during the hot Texas summer,” said Kate Whitney, AgriLife Extension horticulturist for Williamson County.
“The topic for March is getting your lawn and garden irrigation systems in shape with some simple DIY sprinkler repairs and water-wise practices, presented by Master Gardener Steve Craig and the irrigation team.”

Texas Master Gardener
The Texas Master Gardener program is an educational volunteer program conducted by AgriLife Extension. Master Gardeners are members of the local community who take an active interest in their lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers and gardens. Master Gardeners contribute time as volunteers, working through their county’s AgriLife Extension office to provide horticultural-related information to their communities.
There are also free Master Gardener publications online to help the public with everything from selecting the right tree for their area to identifying potentially problematic insects to expert advice on growing fruits, vegetables and herbs. Upcoming events and tips are available on the Williamson County Master Gardeners Facebook page.
