The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in McLennan County will offer a Step Up and Scale Down series starting Aug. 2.
The 12-week course will meet from 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesdays. Classes will be held at the McLennan County office at 4224 Cobbs Drive.

said Colleen Foleen, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent, McLennan County.
The Step Up and Scale Down program is based on the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s guidelines, which are intended to help Americans choose a healthful eating plan, she said.

Over the course of the program, participants will have a peer support system and will learn the key program components which include:
- Weekly “stay the course” challenge.
- Weekly weight check-in.
- Dinner Tonight! healthy recipes and tips.
- Exercise resources.
- Weight-loss planner.
