The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be hosting the “Cooking Well with Diabetes” series starting Aug. 4.
The four-part series will be held every Thursday in August from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County, 4224 Cobbs Drive, Waco.
The cost is $39 and is limited to the first 20 participants.

Diabetes cooking topics
“Cooking Well with Diabetes is a wonderful cooking series designed to help people with diabetes and anyone who prepares food for them,” said Colleen Foleen, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent, McLennan County. “This will be a series of four fun, interactive classes packed with proven research-based information and delicious diabetes-friendly recipes.”
Foleen said the four classes will cover the following topics:
- Examining carbohydrates.
- Meal planning.
- Reducing fat and sodium.
- Maintaining flavorful dishes.
