The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, in cooperation with Bexar County and the Texas Department of Agriculture, is offering certification and recertification training for private pesticide applicators on Oct. 7 in San Antonio.
The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the AgriLife Extension office in Bexar County, 3355 Cherry Ridge, Suite 208.
The training cost is $55, which includes the training and the study materials distributed at the event. Payment must be made by cash or check.
To register, contact Sarah Nichols at 210-631-0400 or email@example.com. Participants should bring a calculator and photo identification to the event.
Importance of private pesticide applicator training
The training will allow participants to obtain a private applicator license from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
An applicator license will enable the applicator to purchase and apply state limited-use and federally restricted chemicals on their land or land they control for the production of agricultural commodities. All farm and ranch operators who do not have a private applicator’s license may not purchase restricted-use pesticides.
