“Our Plantastic Gardening Seminar has lots of different sessions, but they all focus upon vegetable gardening,” said Beth McMahon, AgriLife Extension horticulturist for Gillespie County. “Organic or non-organic, big garden or little garden, beginner gardener or more experienced — you are sure to find a session that you will enjoy and learn from.”
In addition to McMahon, Hill Country Master Gardeners will be on hand at the event. The Plantastic Gardening Seminar topics will include:
- Growing tomatoes.
- Controlling animal pests in your garden.
- Setting up your own irrigation system.
- Hill Country Gardening 101.
- Growing melons.
- Creating your own compost.
- Raising your own worms.
- Container gardening and wicking bed tips.
- Space-saving techniques for a small garden.
McMahon said there will be a question-and-answer session at the end of the event and gardeners should have their questions ready.
