The course is from 8 a.m.-noon at the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County, 4224 Cobbs Drive. Cost is $70 and is payable by check or cash only.
To register, contact the office at 254-757-5180 or email candace.chapman@ag.tamu.edu. The deadline to register is Sept. 21. The cost includes all course materials, a breakfast and beverages.
Importance of pesticide applicator training
The course is for participants who are seeking to obtain the Texas Department of Agriculture’s private pesticide applicator license. A private pesticide applicator is someone who uses or supervises the use of restricted-use or state-limited-use pesticides or regulated herbicides in order to control pests in an agricultural setting.
During the course, participants will learn how to apply pesticides safely and correctly. The information in the course also helps prepare participants to take the TDA’s required licensing exam.
