16th annual Central Texas Stocker Cattle Program set for June 24 in West
Industry experts to cover screwworm update, processing, nutrition and cattle markets
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the 16th annual Central Texas Stocker Cattle Program on June 24 in West.
Hosted by the AgriLife Extension beef and forage committees in Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Hill, Limestone and McLennan counties, the program allows participants to hear the latest updates on the stocker cattle industry from agency and local experts.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the West Auction Barn, 20645 Interstate 35 N. Frontage Road, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. A vendor showcase will be available throughout the day.
The registration fee is $20. Breakfast will be provided by AgTrust Farm Credit, and a steak lunch will be included. Attendees must register by June 19 by contacting the AgriLife Extension office at McLennan County at 254-757-5180 or emailing [email protected].
One Texas Department of Agriculture integrated pest management continuing education unit will be available.

- Update from U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency, FSA, and Natural Resources Conservation Services, NRCS, — Ariana Jaraczewski, McLennan County FSA executive director, and Kristen Newman, NRCS district conservationist, Waco.
