AgriLife Extension Horticulture Series begins April 23 in Kerrville
Four-week program to cover vegetable gardening, turf management, xeriscaping and tree care

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a Horticulture Series beginning April 23 in Kerrville.
The four-part series is designed for home gardeners and landscaping enthusiasts interested in learning practical strategies for growing and maintaining plants in the Hill Country.
Sessions will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on April 23, April 30, May 7 and May 14 at the AgriLife Extension office for Kerr County, 3775 State Highway 27, Kerrville.
The cost is $25 for the full series or $10 per class. To register, contact the AgriLife Extension office for Kerr County at 830-257-6568 or [email protected]. The registration deadline is April 17.
Cash or check is accepted at the door or in advance. Checks should be made payable to Pesticide Applicator Training, PAT, and mailed to: 3775 State Highway 27, Kerrville, TX 78028.
Session topics
Each session will focus on a key topic relevant to Hill Country gardeners and landowners.
Session 1 — April 23:
- Spring and Summer Vegetable Gardening — Donna Bellis, Hill Country Master Gardener and education committee chair.
Session 2 — April 30:
- Earthkind Turf Management — Beth McMahon, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent, Gillespie County.
Session 3 — May 7:
- Xeriscaping and Texas Superstars — Rae Raiford, Hill Country Master Gardener, Junior Master Gardener and youth education chair.
Session 4 — May 14:
- Tree Selection, Planting and Management — Donna Bellis, Hill Country Master Gardener and education committee chair.
