One Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education unit for pesticide applicators is available for those who attend live.
Brittany Chesser, AgriLife Extension aquatic vegetation management program specialist and lead diagnostic scientist at AgriLife Extension’s Aquatic Diagnostics Laboratory, Bryan-College Station, will be the featured speaker.
Preventing harmful algal blooms
Chesser said harmful algal blooms caused by cyanobacteria, commonly known as blue-green algae, and golden algae can lead to sickness and even death in livestock, companion animals and aquatic wildlife.
Over the past year, Chesser and others at the Aquatic Diagnostics Laboratory have conducted small-scale trials assessing the effectiveness of a product that may help prevent these harmful blooms.
“In this webinar, we’ll delve into the most recent findings from our research and discuss practical applications for managing and mitigating harmful algal blooms in your aquatic systems,” Chesser said.
