Arroyo Colorado Clean Up set for July 11 in Rio Hondo
Community volunteers invited to help remove debris, restore waterway shorelines
The Texas Water Resources Institute will host the Arroyo Colorado Clean Up on July 11 in Rio Hondo.
The event will take place from 8-11 a.m. at Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park, 37844 Marshall Hutts Road. Participation is free and open to the public.
Volunteers may choose to clean the shoreline within the park or board a boat to access and clean the opposite bank of the waterway. All participants will be required to sign a volunteer liability waiver before the cleanup.
Registration and clean-up event information
Participants are asked to register at tx.ag/ArroyoColorado.
Water and snacks will be provided throughout the event. Participants are encouraged to dress for outdoor conditions and bring sunscreen, a hat and waterproof shoes, or shoes that can get wet and dirty.
The Arroyo Colorado Clean Up is a cooperative project funded in part by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
