Food handlers course set for Jan.12 in Brenham
AgriLife Extension offers certification and basic overview of food safety practices
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is hosting a food handlers course on Jan. 12 from 3-5 p.m. in Brenham.
The class will be held at the AgriLife Extension office for Washington County, 1305 E. Blue Bell Road. The cost is $20 per person and must be paid in full before the course begins. Registration is available online at https://tx.ag/FoodHandlerWC, or by calling 979-277-6212. Registration can also be done in person on the day of the course.
About the course
The course is a basic overview of food safety practices necessary to ensure safe food is served at an establishment. Practices discussed include good personal hygiene, cross contamination, and time and temperature abuse.
This two-hour course is required for all food service employees to help promote the service of safe food. The certificate is good for two years and is valid anywhere in Texas.
