The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and OneOp will host the webinar, “Exercise is Medicine: Promoting Health and Well-Being Across the Lifespan” on Feb. 24 from 10-11 a.m.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Once registered, an email will be sent with connection information.

The webinar will be presented by Emerson Sebastião, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Learning objectives

Participants will learn evidence-based strategies and practical tools to help incorporate movement into daily routines, ensuring long-term health benefits.

Following the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how regular physical activity supports overall health, disease prevention and quality of life across the lifespan.
  • Describe physical and mental benefits of regular exercise, including its role in supporting healthy aging.
  • Identify evidence-based strategies and practical tools to integrate movement and structured exercise into daily routines for themselves and the populations they serve.

Continuing education credits available

One continuing education credit is available in each of the following areas:

  • Certified in family and consumer sciences, American Association for Family and Consumer Sciences.
  • Certified nutrition and wellness educator, American Association for Family and Consumer Sciences.
  • Registered dietitian nutritionists and nutrition and dietetics technicians, Registered, Commission on Dietetic Registration’s CPEU Prior Approval Program.
  • Certified health education specialist and master certified health education specialist, National Commission for Health Education Credentialing.
