Land management workshop slated for Nov. 21 in Fredericksburg
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service event to focus on wildlife valuation, grazing, fire preparedness, more
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host “Landowner Strategies for Wildlife Valuation, Grazing and Fire Preparedness” on Nov. 21 in Fredericksburg from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The event will take place at the AgriLife Extension office for Gillespie County, 38 Business Court. Registration is required by Nov. 16 at https://tx.ag/LandownerStrategies or by calling 830-997-3452. The cost is $25 with lunch provided or $10 if participants bring their own lunch.
Topics covered
The workshop will cover a range of land management topics including:
- Wildlife tax valuation.
- Agricultural tax exemptions.
- Wildlife and livestock interactions.
- Agricultural law resources.
- Hill Country tree care.
- Implementing wildfire mitigation strategies.
Speakers include:
- Liz Tidwell, AgriLife Extension small acreage program specialist in the Texas A&M Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management, Uvalde.
- Brad Roeder, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Gillespie County.
- Morgan Treadwell, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension range specialist and professor in the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management, San Angelo.
- Elizabeth McMahon, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent for Gillespie County.
- Kevin Knapick, AgriLife Extension Disaster Assessment and Recovery specialist, Fredericksburg.
- Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, J.D., AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist and professor in the Texas A&M Department of Agricultural Economics, Amarillo.
- Stanely Rabke, fire chief, Willow City Volunteer Fire Department.
