Pesticide use in turfgrass systems workshop set for June 3 in Pearland
Six continuing education units available for pesticide applicators
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the City of Pearland will host a Responsible Pesticide Use in Turfgrass Systems workshop on June 3 at the West Pearland Library, 11801 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland.

The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is designed for pesticide applicators working in turfgrass and municipal landscape settings, including municipal programs and parks, school maintenance, athletic fields and lawn care professionals.
Registration fees include breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Regular registration is $120 from May 4 through May 30. Late and on-site registration is $140 from May 31 through June 3. Participants can register at tx.ag/TurfgrassCEU.
Six Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units are available — two general, two integrated pest management, one law and regulations, and one drift minimization.

- Weed Biology and Integrated Management Strategies for Sustainable Landscapes —Mayer.
- Texas Pesticide Laws, Rules and Applicator Responsibilities — Corrie Bowen, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent in Wharton County.
- Irrigation Practices That Reduce Pesticide Drift and Runoff in Municipal Landscapes — James Boone Holladay, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent in Galveston County.
