The training will be from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension Bexar County “Greenies” Urban Farm, 1615 Sherman St.

Registration is required by Sept. 11. No continuing education units for licensed applicators will be offered.

The cost is $60 per person and includes training materials. Payment can be made by cash or check payable to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.

About the training

The training is designed to prepare participants to obtain a private applicator license from the Texas Department of Agriculture.

A private applicator license allows individuals to purchase and use state-limited-use and federally restricted-use pesticides on land they own or control for the purpose of producing agricultural commodities.

Farm and ranch operators who do not currently have a private applicator license and need to purchase or use restricted-use pesticides are encouraged to attend.

To register, contact the AgriLife Extension office in Bexar County at 210-631-0400 or Dorothy Herbst at [email protected].
