South Texas Beef and Forage Field Day set for April 29 in Beeville
Expert speakers to cover brush management, parasite control, ag law, cattle markets and more
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the third annual South Texas Beef and Forage Field Day on April 29 in Beeville.

Registration and a chuckwagon breakfast begin at 7 a.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Station at Beeville, 3507 Highway 59 E. The program then moves for a trade show and lunch at 11:45 a.m. to Twisted Ranch Events and Design, 3360 U.S. Highway 59 N, with afternoon sessions to follow.
The registration fee is $40, and two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available. To register, call 361-621-1552.

Morning sessions
Morning presentation topics and speakers will include:
- General Brush Management — Stacy Hines, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension rangeland habitat management specialist and assistant professor, Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management, Corpus Christi.
- Preemergent Weed Management — Josh McGinty, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension agronomist and assistant professor, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Corpus Christi.
- Applied Research — Taylor Andrews, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension beef cattle production systems specialist and assistant professor, Department of Animal Science, Beeville.
- Cattle Handling and External Parasite Control — Ron Gill, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension livestock specialist and professor, Department of Animal Science, Chico, and Karl Harborth, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension livestock specialist and assistant professor, Department of Animal Science, Corpus Christi.
Afternoon sessions
