Blackland Income Growth awards 11 scholarships during 2015 conference

WACO – Scholarships were recently awarded to outstanding 4-H members at the 2015 Blackland Income Growth Conference held at the Extraco Events Center in Waco.
The scholarships were presented during the conference luncheon that featured Dr. Rudy Tarpley, head of the agricultural and consumer sciences department at Tarleton State University.
The annual conference sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Waco Chamber of Commerce provides agricultural education to producers in the Blacklands region.
Receiving $1,000 each were: Jarrett Mackie, Bell County; Catherine Arndt, Denton County; Hadley Baker, Falls County; Jeneva Moreno, Johnson County; Kaitlyn Pagel, Kaufman County; Blaine Peters and Lane Scott, McLennan County; Emily Stovall, Navarro County; Jacob Leopold and Macey Randig, Williamson County. Receiving the $1,500 Scott Felton Scholarship for agribusiness majors was Blake Pustejovsky of Hill County.
