Trans-Pecos land use changes prompt multi-agency seminar

ALPINE – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will join two other entities to conduct “Going, Going…Gone?: Changing Land Use in the Trans-Pecos and Its Impact on Ranching and Wildlife.”
The seminar is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 30 at the Espino Conference Center, Morgan University Center, Ave. B and Harrison St., Sul Ross State University at Alpine.
AgriLife Extension is being joined in conducting the seminar by the Texas Agricultural Land Trust and the Borderlands Research Institute at Sul Ross.
“This seminar is being held in response to the rapidly changing land use we are seeing in the Trans-Pecos region of Far West Texas,” said Logan Boswell, AgriLife Extension agent for Brewster and Jeff Davis counties.

Boswell said the seminar is meant to help landowners understand the land trends that may affect them and provide them with the tools they’ll need to manage this change through protecting, conserving and ultimately passing on their working agricultural lands to future generations.
