ANDREWS – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct the Permian Basin Oil and Gas Stewardship Conference from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Lincoln Community Building, 400 NW Ave. J in Andrews.
“With the drop in the price of oil, many landowners in the Basin are considering their options with utilizing solar and wind energy production on their properties,” said Amanda Necessary, AgriLife Extension agent in Andrews County. “Part of the conference agenda will give landowners the latest information on both industries and what they need to know before they decide to sign a lease.”
“There are a lot of legislative issues coming up that will affect landowners, ranching and energy production,” said Caleb Eaton, AgriLife Extension agent in Ward County. “We have both State Rep. Brooks Landgraf and U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway on the agenda to discuss what is going on in Austin and Washington related to these issues.”
Individual registration is $30. RSVP by July 24 to the AgriLife Extension office in Andrews County by calling 432-524-1421 or email Necessary at [email protected].
