Williamson will begin on Oct. 7, starting with the agency’s First Step training program in Donley and Carson counties. He will begin his role in Armstrong County on Nov. 9, Dukes said.

“Derrick has a great 4-H and FFA background and he will be a tremendous asset to Armstrong County,” Dukes said.

Williamson is a native of Blum and is a recent graduate of West Texas A&M University.

“I look forward to the opportunity to work with producers and improve the community’s agricultural involvement to the best of my ability,” he said. “I also have had plenty of experience evaluating and selecting livestock, so I am excited to also be working with youth through their different projects and contest.”
