Feaster, a native of Ralls, began Feb. 15 in Motley County, where he will complete his month-long First Step training before filling the office full time in Cottle County.

“We are excited to bring Luke to Cottle County. His youth livestock experience and working in cotton research is the perfect combination to serve the clientele in Cottle County,” said Miles Dabovich, AgriLife Extension district administrator in Vernon.

Feaster is a graduate of Lubbock Christian University. Most recently he worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture research station in Lubbock, primarily assisting on cotton research projects and in the ginning operations. Prior to that, he worked with Crop Production Services and as a harvest hand.

“I grew up in a farming community and saw how essential cotton production was there,” Feaster said. “I’ve also raised livestock and have been a part of nearly every aspect this job requires.

“I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to be an agent, and I look forward to the opportunity to put what I’ve learned to work with the producers and 4-H youth in Cottle County and to grow existing programs as well as build new programs,” he said.
