Searcy selected incoming president-elect of the American Society of Ag and Biological Engineers

COLLEGE STATION – Dr. Stephen Searcy, head of the biological and engineering department at Texas A&M University, College Station, has been selected as the president-elect of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
Searcy will begin a three-year term at the close of the 2016 international meeting July 17-20 in Orlando, Florida. He will serve one year each as president-elect, president and past president. He previously served on the board of trustees and as treasurer for the association.
“It’s a privilege to serve in this leadership position and I look forward to furthering the goals and mission of ASABE in advancing engineering applications in agriculture, food and biological systems,” Searcy said.
Searcy provides statewide administrative support and guidance for 37 faculty members in teaching, research and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. He has been a member of ASABE since 1980 and has served as treasurer and trustee, and been a member of a variety of technical and executive committees. He was inducted as an ASABE Fellow in 2008.
